Photograph Notes: This somewhat unusual building is set back from Kimberley Terrace (or Mill Hill or Mill Loke - depending on whether one chooses to go by the street signs or by information given by OS maps), near the village hall and playing field > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/904168. It is surrounded by terraced and semi-detached houses and a road (called Leeds Way, according to OS maps) leads past it on the other side. The building looks like a small church and a place of worship is indeed marked on OS maps and Magicmap for this location. However, there is no church information board which might give a clue to the name or denomination of this church, as in fact no information at all could be found on the Internet. Typically, there was nobody nearby who could have been asked either. On 13 May 2020, Geograph contributor John Webb wrote: "For information, on a 1938 OS 25inch:1 mile map this building is labelled 'Mission Hall'. Your photo indicates that the rear of this building is older (ancient ventilator on roof) and I wonder if the striking entrance is a 1950s or 60s addition? The latest large-scale map one can view on this site just says 'Hall', so I wonder if it is now in community rather than church use? John added that "I've now viewed the Google map aerial view since writing the above. It seems the above end has been completely rebuilt and the gravelled area converted into a garden.
