Subject: 2 Antique prints, titled: ''Grand Theatre Nouveau. Cour d''Assises.'' - Two plates, Imagerie d''Epinal no. 1662 and 1663: Courts of Assize, Assizes. The first plate is the ''Fond'' (base) showing judges and dignitaries behind a bench, in front of which a table with evidence. The second plate ''Coulisses'' (Wings) shows four different images, the left and right sides (jury and public), and the entrance to the courtroom. It appears these plates together would be used to create a box-like three-dimensional setup of the court.
Condition: Good, given age. The margin edges a little browned. Small holes (from binding) in the far left margin. Some creases in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 55.5 x 42 cm. The image size is ca. 49.5 x 38.5 cm. Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 21.9 x 16.5 inch. The image size is ca. 19.5 x 15.2 inch.
