Kenko Lens Filter Starry Night 72mm Thin Frame for Starry Night Photography Made in Japan

The sky is affected by lights such as sodium and mercury lamps in the city, resulting in an overall reddish color when photographing the night sky in the city. This kind of city light is called "light pollution. When taking photographs, a filter that can cut these effects appropriately to capture the night sky in its true color is called a "light pollution cut filter. Starry Night" is a light pollution-cut filter for shooting starscapes and night skies that was created with the hope that all people who photograph the stars and night skies will be able to take more beautiful photographs of them.
Starry Night" has the property of cutting out only light rays in a specific wavelength range, and suppresses color casts caused by sodium and mercury lamps. This makes it possible to capture landscapes with true colors even with auto white balance. Also, unlike conventional light pollution cut filters such as "ASTRO LPR," there are no restrictions on the focal length of the lens that can be used, so even ultra-wide angle lenses can be used without discomfort. The frame is designed with a thin frame to prevent vignetting. The knurled finish makes it easy to remove and insert the filter outdoors. Made in Japan for safety and reliability.

Product Features
Light pollution cut filter to suppress color casts caused by city lights
The night sky, especially in urban areas, can appear yellowish or orange due to the effects of city lights such as sodium and mercury lamps. The use of "Starry Night" reduces color casts and allows for natural color reproduction. Even when using photo development software to finish the work, using "Starry Night" to cut light pollution in advance has the advantage of reducing the number of work steps and making RAW development easier. Starry Night is a filter for shooting starscapes and nightscapes.

Ideal for shooting starscapes and nightscapes
Unlike conventional light pollution cut filters, the Starry Night has no focal length limitation and does not cause color shift even with wide-angle lenses. It also has a thin frame that prevents vignetting even when using a wide-angle lens, making it the ideal filter for starscape photography in particular. This filter is also effective for night scenes and time-lapse photography, where post-processing is difficult.

Recommended for use in combination with the Soft Filter.
Starry Night can be used in combination with a soft filter to make the stars in a starry night scene stand out by blurring the stars. The "Pro Soften" series is particularly suitable for this purpose. Please note that layering filters may result in black vignetting around the edges of the image.
We encourage you to post your starry night photos on social networking sites with the hashtag "#Starry Night Filter.
