This wire is solderable and weldable.

Wire Diameter is 0.024” diameter (approximately 22 AWG).

Many early transistors had gold plated wire leads until competition 

forced cost saving measures and then transistors no longer had gold plated wires!

(Gold plated transistors disappeared in the 70's and are becoming rare.)
