This is a Japanese Ikebana flower frog known as a kenzan that measures approximately 3 inches by 3 inches. Instead of the familiar square or round, this particular Kenzan is a fan shape type used for the corner arrangement and the offset of focus will create a more dramatic effect.

The pins are made of brass and it comes with the removable rubber base. It is a new piece and the condition is very good.  It weighs 14 ounces before packaging.
