A PAIR OF SUPERBLY ORNATE MALAYSIAN SILVER SERVERS 1900/35
A stunning pair of Malaysian silver
servers completed by heavy black handles finished to the ‘pistol grip’
terminals emblazoned with dragon on a silver mount. The business ends are
beautifully fashioned with engraved and pierced decoration emphasising their
exotic form. I am informed that the maker’s mark is that belonging to Mohd Salleh
and Sons and that they are estimated to have been made during the earlier part
of the last century (1900-1935). They are offered in unpolished
condition. The silver, (most probably 800 grade), still has a great gleam
factor and the pieces are super stable. There is a tiny gap between silver and
handle to one piece but there is no movement here, maybe it was so from at the
first. Display extremely well, fabulously
exotic and decidedly decadent.
