Leon Gordon Miller: A modern American painter, printmaker and stained glass artist, Leon Gordon Miller was widely represented in major American exhibitions from 1950 to 1985. During this time one man exhibitions of Miller's art were held at such institutions as the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Kennedy Gallery, the American Jewish Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts. Miller also won the prestigious America Graphics Arts Award in 1975 for his work in the media of silk-screen and woodcuts.
Today, Miller's woodcuts and silk-screens are included in such collections as the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, and the Yale University Library. After his death in 1985, Mrs. Polly Miller donated many of his prints and blocks to the permanent collection at the University of Central Florida. Leon Gordon Miller was an active lecturer and author. In 1967, he illustrated and co-authored (with wife Polly Miller), Lost Heritage of Alaska: Adventure and Art of Alaskan Coastal Indians. In 1973, Miller co-authored (with J. W. Bernstein) the book "Stained-Glass Craft".
