…” Dear Tube Museum, My experience is that the stock RODE tubes don't sound very good and are lifeless. I have come to a conclusion with much regret that finding a good sounding new tube for my RODE K2 was a real time-consuming quest, before I purchased your Bugle-Boy 6DJ8’s.
Before finding the Amperex Holland Bugle-Boy 6DJ8 from The Tube Museum New York, no other tube satisfied my sonic-thirst, leaving me dehydrated for a sonic elixir, that magical and medicinal potion guaranteed to produce tube-mic-love . Thank you! My thirst has been quenched! Now after many tries I appreciate how tubes are graded, tested, and selected by you guys.
For 6922/ECC88, I suggest Amperex Bugle Boy 6DJ8 with either large the round ‘O’ getters or small ’o’ getters. J.A.N. 6DJ8 are better than Sovteks but good bugles are still in another league. The Telefunkens are good but too neutral and flat and dull in the midrange for me. My best opinion is run to the Bugle Boy’s from the Tube Museum as fast as you can as they have a magic that no other 6DJ8's have. See you again, soon for more”… Regards, Phil

Most vintage tube testers test tubes by using fixed bias. So, if you are trying to compare test results between the AT1000 and other testers, this is the best way. The Tube Museum ALWAYS choose the "fixed bias mode" while testing our tubes. We only test in the "fixed-bias" circuit, this way drift or aging of the tube will not be compensated for, and your tube’s TRUE performance will be displayed on the LCD display, so you KNOW what you are REALLY buying!
Here is the "6DJ8" Amplitrex Set-Up Data Screen. The heater is a TRUE 6.3 volts, testing at the correct 90 eP with a mA Specification of the true factory data of 15.0mA and a GM or mutual-conductance (also known as mA/V) of 12.5mA/V or 12,500 Gm.
