According to Bulbagarden.net, these special Japanese promotional cards "were only obtainable on randomized sheets from a Vending Machine from which the cards were peeled. It is due to this that the fan name Vending Machine Series was coined by collectors, and should not be considered the proper name for the set."

I've been attempting to collect as many cards from this series as possible, due to the wild variation in artwork and the historical significance to the Pokemon franchise. Among the cards in this series were art created by winners of a contest held by Japanese magazine Corocoro. Finalists of the contest not only got a chance for their art to be on a Pokemon card but also received one of the rarest and most valuable Pokemon cards ever: The Pikachu Illustrator card, which is now worth over a million dollars.

The beautiful cards you will receive feature Magmar and Caterpie. Despite the fact that the glossy promo cards are prone to creasing these are in amazing condition. As much as I love the series, these are duplicates of ones I already have! Sometimes I would order them in lots and they came along with cards that I didn't have already. As my goal is to just collect 'em all, I actually kept the ones in worse condition and are offering you the ones in the best shape!
