A beautiful comfortable rocking chair which could grace a conservatory, living room or make a focal point in a library. Early American in design and having ornately turned bobbin spokes on the arms ,arm rests and on the back support this has classic features and is very stylish. Unusual in the feature of having the back made out of material instead of the usual wooden slats this adds another dimension to the chair.  A smooth rocking system and very well supported steel springs makes this a pleaseure to sit and rock in.  The material is thick, heavy, patterned ,supportive and well stitched and the gold and light orange colour really pops against the dark wood which is polished.
Altogether this is in very good condition with clean lines and motion considering its age. A few signs of wear and tear on the frame and material but this was created to be used and has been. Age with usage justs adds to the visual appeal of this piece.
