This "Map of the World" was salvaged from an antique 1899 edition of Appletons The Universal Cyclopedia. A friend gave me a set of these encyclopedias since the bindings were all destroyed and they were falling apart. I'm an artist and they thought I could use them. I saved as many maps and images as I could.

This map is in amazing shape with no rips, tears, stains, marks, writing, or stickers. It is printed on one sheet of paper which is folded in half to fit into the encyclopedia. There is a strip of paper adhered to the fold on the back which bound the map into the book (see the last detail photo). The dimensions of the page are 10 3/4" x 13 3/4" (the printed boarder of the map itself is 9" x 12 1/4").
