I altered his materials slightly. He uses moose body hair for the tail and shellback. I used Elk hair for the tail and Elk & Supreme Hair for the shellback. He used chartreuse thread, I used Black, Olive and Brown to match the body color. He used medium chartreuse chenille for the body, I used Black, Olive & Brown.
These are dark colored and great for murky water. They are also 3 of Mike Verduin's favorite Cap Spider colors.
The only other fly that even comes close to this fly in bluegill production is the Bully Bluegill Spider, also tied by DressedIrons as well as a dozen other people on You Tube.
