Photograph Notes: The National Firefighters Memorial commemorates firefighters of the United Kingdom's fire services who have lost their lives in the line of duty, both in war and in peace: on the base of the memorial are inscribed over 1,100 names. The Monument stands adjacent to St. Paul's Cathedral, London, at the end of the Jubilee Walkway (leading to the Millennium Bridge). The sculpture in bronze depicts three firefighters in action during the bombing raids of WWII. It is the work of John Mills and was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1991.
