the seed potatoes 4 to 6 inches deep and 18 inches apart in rows spaced
2 to 3 feet apart. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Cover the
potatoes with an inch or two of soil and water thoroughly. Do not water
again until the potatoes are approximately 5 inches in height. Maintain a
regular watering program after this point, watering to keep the soil
moist
