This is a design by Rich McElligott. There’s a video of him tying it at a Kentucky fishing show on YouTube. It’s distributed by Rainy’s Premium Flies as Rich’s Ultimate Worm.
I tied these in the same manner as Rich McElligott.
It’s on a 1/0 Extra Wide Gap offset worm hook. It’s weighted slightly to get it down faster. It’s tied weedless. The worm slides down when the fish strikes to expose the hook. Then it can be pulled back up in weedless mode. The same principle as the Senko Worm.
I used a similar color thread to the worm thread on these.
This fly gives the Fly rod or Tenkara Rod fisherman the ability to use one of the most popular bass Lures. Although I have no experience with it, it’s reportedly also good for trout.
You get 6 of these in 6 colors, 1 Green, 1 Black, 1Purple (Jellybean), 1 Red, 1 Yellow (Lemon), and 1 White (Pearl). These are Six the top ten worm colors. Definitely a worm for any water condition.
These are great worm colors and may be the best combination for any water clarity.
