The icons also form part of the British Standard BS 8593:2017 ‘Code of practice for the deployment and use of Body Worn Video (BWV).

BS8593 2017  5.1.15 states "System owners should inform people effectively that they are being recorded (video and/or audio)"

Home Office/CAST Recommendations 'BWV users should be proactive in informing people when they are being video recorded and that this includes audio' 

Home Office/CAST Technical Guidance 'Users should display an icon and/or text notifying they are carrying a device that records video and audio'
