Intro
Coin collecting is my hobby. I am not running an at-home business
or charity. I am just a collector who has some items available for others who
also like to collect. Specifically, I collect U S coins and a few silver
certificates. I have collected since I was about 8 years old pushing circulated
pennies into a folding Whitman Coin book with my dirty little thumb. I have
progressed in the hobby enough to know about uncirculated coins and wearing
gloves while handling them, and now I am recently retired and able to spend
some extra time enjoying my hobby.
I particularly enjoy the chance to connect with other collectors.

Grading
All grading is subjective, an opinion. I try to provide a
reasonably responsible grade on my listings based on The Official
American Numismatic Association Grading Standards for United States Coins, 6th Edition. You
will see some sellers hyping their listings with (in my opinion) inflated
grades. I hope you do not have the same thought about my grades, but you might
because everyone has an opinion, and our opinions might not always agree.
Photos can cut thru the hyperbole of marketing!
Listing Description
Please look at the photos on the listing as an
integral part of the listing description. If the photos do not give
you a clear view of some detail(s) of the item, please message me and ask for
more specific photos. If the photos are of a different item than the
listing title and description, please let me know, so I can fix my mistake before
it becomes a problem for both of us. Please do not assume, just ask your
question.
Shipping and Handling (S&H)
Postage is the biggest part of this cost, but packaging
contributes its share, and there are other less obvious costs, like fuel to run
a package to the post office, etc. I try to keep this cost to a minimum, and on
many listings, I share in this cost by charging only part of the total cost to
get the item(s) to you.
I will gladly combine shipping on multiple items! It saves costs for both of us! However, for me to do that,
you have to pay for the items together. Items with Free S&H are no
different. The eBay system tracks every purchase as an individual transaction
that expects an individual shipment. It is possible to combine shipments after
payment is received, just not very practical. Please put your items in your
cart and pay for them at the same time. My policy is that S&H is 50% off
after the first item; however, different items can have very different postage
and/or shipping costs. If it is a problem for you, or you think it may be a
problem for me, please message me with your situation, and we will work it out
to keep this cost as low as practical.
I use eBay Standard Envelope Program on most items under $20.
That's how I can get the S&H down from $3.99 per item to $0.99. It works
and is economical for both of us; however, it has some limitations - it can
take a couple days more to get the item, and tracking is inconsistent. If
you have not received your item, please message me first before
opening a claim with eBay. Their system defaults sometimes override common
sense, which can create more work for both of us. Whenever you have a concern
or question, please send me a message.
Payment
eBay accepts your payments, not me. Maybe I am naïve about the
inner workings of the process in that regard. All I want is for your payment to
be prompt. If you cannot pay upon purchasing an item or items, please send me a
message with your expected payment timeline. I am open to reasonable requests
and have accommodated all requests to-date. Please do not take that as a
lay-away plan! This is my hobby, not a business. I reserve the option to cancel
an order for non-payment after 3 days, unless you have made other arrangements
with me on that specific item.
Returns
I will accept returns for 30 days from the date of payment.
Honestly, I can think of only two legitimate reasons to return an item. A) the
item is damaged in shipping, which is super rare, or B) I send you the wrong
item, which has not happened yet, but is bound to happen to someone eventually!
We are all just human beings trying to do our best. There are a bevy of third
reasons for returning an item; however, every reasonable effort is being made
with this listing template to avoid those reasons. The one thing to
remember is to ask your question before you purchase. That will eliminate
99.9% of complaints and returns making both of us happier with our mutually
beneficial interactions.
