Fabulous, unobtainable tete à tete coffee service in very fine white porcelain decorated entirely by hand and glazed. Made by the very famous Hungarian Herend manufacture around the first half of the 1960, as can be seen from the under-enamel blue mark present under each piece. The service consists of a coffee pot with a lid, a sugar bowl with a lid, a milk jug, two cups with their respective saucers and a large tray. All the service is decorated with Apponyi decoration in green.
Final thoughts on the subject:
The Apponyi decoration was created for Count Albert Apponyi, an important Hungarian political figure, and was presented for the first time in Paris in 1867, the first time it was precisely in green like ours, then it was also proposed in purple and brown (as you can read from the notes proposed in the last photo). The peculiarity of this decoration, apart from the beautiful little rose on the lids with two leaves in relief, is the beautiful upper band of each piece, cups, milk jug, coffee pot, sugar bowl and even around the tray and saucers of the cups, made with a very delicate relief pattern on white porcelain, extremely elegant and refined. This service is in perfect condition, without the slightest chips or lack and complete with all the pieces.
