Controls

The Control Module for the CircuPool CORE-35 salt unit is a weatherproof unit integrated inline with the cell, with a touch sensitive control keypad and LED indicators. Digital controls will display your current settings and chosen chlorine output.

You can increase or decrease chlorine output through the Control Module, or activate a chlorine boost. The advanced system diagnostics will alert you when you need to add more salt or clean the cell. These diagnostics also provide information about the water flow, cell replacement, and Control Module electronics status.

The CircuPool CORE-35 Control Module also comes standard with a built-in power supply cord, with 110V plug for easy installation. The digital switch-mode power supply automatically converts 220V, allowing for direct wiring to a timer, relay, or other power source. The Control Module is mounted to the cell with a threaded connection that allows for easy removal during service.

Electrolytic Cell

The cell for the CircuPool CORE-35 unit features a clear cell housing, removable titanium electrode plates, and built-in Flow Switch and sensors. The titanium plates are easily removed for cleaning the system with an included cleaning vessel, or when replacing the cell.

The CORE cell housing also comes with threaded connections on each end and 2” slip-fittings unions which will attach to the existing return-line PVC plumbing. The clear cell housing makes it easy to see the chlorine generation process in action or to check inside the cell before servicing it.

Parts

CircuPool CORE-35 units include: 2” threaded cell unions, a cleaning vessel, a cutting template for installation, and a standard instruction manual.

Buy it. You’ve found the one.
This unit has no competition. Buy it. I put it in in about 20 minutes. Half hour if you wire it into timer instead of plugging in. It’s An all in one unit. No complications, no guessing. The cell inside is always visible and simple to replace. This system is so much more advanced than what else is out there. I replaced a Hayward aquarite system that always have me problems with this. I haven’t had one hiccup since. Buy it. You won’t regret it. And the customer service from discount salt pool is phenomenal. When I called to check on my order the owner answered. Said he could have any system he wanted in his own pool. He chose this one. Need I say more?

So far so good
Ive just converted my pool to a saltwater pool. I added 800 lbs salt to my 25,000 gallon pool and plugged in this circupool core 55. I let it run on the lowest setting from 10am to 6pm with the variable speed pump running at a slow flow (1200 rpms). So far I've went to the pool store twice in one month to check my pool chemical levels and chlorine is spot on salt levels at 3200 ppm and been swimming 4 times with pool temp at 70 degrees. At about 900 rpms the circupool detects low flow so i keep it at 1200. I went with the larger cell (core55) vs (core35) because same price and thought the cell would last longer on a lower setting. We will see if I'm right.

Great unit, very happy
I opted for the Core 55 unit and love it so far. Took half hour to install. I'm in Indiana and have only had the pool open a couple weeks and it's working flawlessly. I've has a couple of Hayward units that worked OK but the boards go bad after about a year. Only thing I would like to see on it is a display showing the salt reading instead of a low level light.

so easy to install
This thing couldn't be easier to install. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else. This salt system is the best we've owned.

Easy to install and perfect water
I just bought a home with a pool, and I've never owned a pool before. My wife convinced me to install a salt chlorinator. We went with the Core-55 and I couldn't be happier with it so far. Our levels are perfect and if I need a boost after a party, I just hit "Turbo" button and BAM! No harsh chemicals and the saltiness is quite pleasant. The only downside is, I wish it were capable of connecting to my smart home and giving me alerts about levels and what's happening in my water. Again, every time I take my water for testing it comes out fine, so I haven't really needed it. But, at this price point, I think that would be a spectacular value-add: have a built in tester that give readings to the phone via connected network. Again, LOVE this addition to our pool. Highly recommend.

Q & A

Q: If using a variable speed pump which uses its on control board, how does the Salt generator come on and detect that the pump is on if it is connected to an external GFCI outlet?
Asked by:  - 12/29/2019
A: The system uses a flow switch to activate itself and deactivate itself depending on when your pump is programmed to start/stop. This is standard for most newer salt chlorine generators. Answer provided by:
Q: 1. I have a pool of about 20,000 gallons. Is it possible to use the CircuPool CORE-35 Salt Chlorine Generator system? 2. How often and how to clean the CircuPool CORE-35 Salt Chlorine Generator?
Asked by:  - 4/22/2019
A: I put one on a similar size pool and its working great. I would say it needs cleaning once ever 6-8 weeks or so? But it depends on water chemistry. Answer provided by:
Q: How long is power chord? Also my unit comes out of the pool heater and runs parallel to ground. Will I need to raise this line to install . I can send pics if needed. Pool is 46k gallons. in ground
Asked by:  - 3/4/2020
A: The power cord is about 6ft, and can easily be extended if needed. I would estimate needing about 3-4" of space below the piping for the tail of this unit to extend down, so if your return pipe is sitting right on the ground you'd want to lift it just a bit. Answer provided by:
Q: Do you have the 1.5” reducers? My lines are 1.5”
Asked by:  - 1/19/2020
A: That is something you would want to get at the hardware store - its an off-the-shelf item and very cheap. Answer provided by:
Q: What is the power cord length?
Asked by:  - 5/14/2019
A: The power cord is a little over 5' and can be extended if needed. Answer provided by:
Q: Can the CORE35 be used for an above ground pool?
Asked by:  - 5/27/2019
A: Yes, the CORE models are used frequently on above ground pools. The only difference for some people is your plumbing size, which can be adapted if needed with standard PVC adapter fittings from your local hardware store. Answer provided by:
Q: Where is the installation manual for this? I run my pump 24/7. Can i hardwire so that there is power to the unit only when the pump is on? Amanda
Asked by:  - 6/29/2019
A: Yes, you can choose to hardwire it so that it is only powered when the pump is. The manual is linked here: https://www.circupool.com/assets/doc/CircuPool-CORE-Manual.pdf Answer provided by:
Q: Is a bypass fitting available for this unit? If not, can I build my own using the male ends from standard 2" pvc unions?
Asked by:  - 12/30/2019
A: Yes there is a cap that you can order that lets you take out the cell cartridge and control head. The threads on the male housing unions for the plumbing isn't likely to have an off-the-shelf match. Answer provided by:
Q: Can this unit be used with a Pentair VS pump?
Asked by:  - 10/11/2019
A: Yes, it is frequently used with Pentair variable speed pumps. The pump brand does not really matter. Answer provided by:
Q: What are the main differences between the RJ-30 Plus and Core-35 (aside from size and warranty)?
Asked by:  - 1/8/2020
A: Great question. The CORE is the most compact, easy to use, & easy to install system with more advanced electronics and sensors. Its control module, cell, and flow switch are all integrated into a single unit (which you can take apart easily for service or replacement). The RJ models have will give you lots of power and lifespan (the two most important things) for the money, and have long been a customer favorite. Its controller hangs on the wall, and it does have lots of different settings and diagnostics. Its cell and controller get installed independently in the plumbing.
