CHARADE

Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn star in this exceptional comedy mystery. Reggie Lambert, played by Audrey Hepburn, returns home to Paris from a skiing trip in the Alps only to find her apartment ransacked. Her husband is dead and a group of crooks are searching for her husband's riches. Cary Grant comes to her aid to escape the sinister group who's convinced she is hiding her husband's fortunes. Mysteriously each gang member is murdered one by one.

RAIN

Joan Crawford was little scared of her role in Rain (1932), adapted from Maugham's "Miss Thompson," fearing comparison with earlier Sadie Thompsons such as Gloria Swanson. She also didn't get along with director Lewis Milestone and hated the Catalina Island location. But she's very good in a showy role, and Walter Huston gives one of his best performances as the religious zealot.
