Antique, Victorian Ridgways Hawthornden blue and white plate
Made in England ca. 1880 in stoneware, it would have looked stunning as part of a whole service.
When I acquired it, it was described as a 'Junket dish' which sort of makes sense as a serving plate - Junket being a sort of milky jelly dessert.  Whilst not huge it is on a substantial pedestal or footed base so it probably is a serving plate or dish.

Size is approx 9 inches (23cm) diameter

The impressed mark on the back has the rope knot for Ridgways and I think the date mark for 1880.

Condition is generally very good.  There is one small hairline crack to the glaze on the back but not significant.  Some light crazing to the front to be expected with a piece of this age.  Please check the photo's.
