THE JET BLACK LINES ARE ACTUALLY A FUNGUS WHICH HAS STARTED TO GROW IN THE WOOD AS IT ROTS. THE ROTTING (SPALTING) PROCESS AND THE FUNGUS STOPS ONCE THE WOOD IS CURED AND DRIED. TRULY A UNIQUE AMERICAN WOOD.
