Description

Pit Road 1/700 Japanese Navy Tachibana-type Destroyer Tachibana with Full Hull

The "Tachibana" type was a simplified version of the "Matsu" type, which was built as a rapid wartime destroyer, with a flat configuration and a construction period reduced by half.
The main mission of the "Matsu" type, including the "Tachibana" type, was to support landing and supply operations, and she was equipped with anti-aircraft guns, torpedo tubes, torpedo launchers, and detonation charges, as well as two 10-meter-long cargo ships.
Completed at Yokosuka Arsenal in January 1945, the first ship, Tachibana, was bombed by Allied aircraft off Hakodate in July of the same year, ending her short life.
The ship's name was changed to "Tachibana" in 1949. The same type of vessels, the "YU", "NASHI", and "HAGI", were refitted to carry the Kaiten, with a loading platform installed aft of the ship.
The remaining ships worked as demobilized transports after the war, and were then handed over to foreign countries as reparation ships. The product comes with new parts of the Kaiten and a boarding platform to reproduce the state of loading the Kaiten on the stern. Decals for the same type of ship "Yulu", "Ivy", "Hagi" are included - Selectable ocean/full hull model (full hull parts are new mold) - 1 ship included - approx. 142mm in length *The image is of a prototype assembled and painted with the Tachibana type "Hagi". (The display stand is different from the product.) *The "Kaiten body and projectile stand" in the image are prototypes.
