Here is a Canon EF SLR body for 3t5mm film accepting the excellent Canon FD lenses.

Canon has used the term "EF" in two ways. The first was this camera, a high end 35mm SLR for FD lenses. The other is the later EOS EF lens series. Confusingly, the EF lenses don't fit the EF camera. The EF SLR seems to be a close relative of the Canon F-1 flagship. The F1 is more mechanical, while the EF has more electronics including aperture automatic exposure.

The Copal Square metal focal pane shutter offers speeds from 8 seconds to 1/1000. The camera provides shutter speed priority automatic or manual exposure control. The camera uses two 1.3v batteries.

The self-timer lever also permits depth-of-field preview and stop-down metering. There is a hot shoe and a PC connection with cover on the left side of the body. A button in the center of the On/Off switch allows for multiple exposures. The CAT(Canon Auto Tuning) button on left side of camera back should be left in the Normal position except when using the Canon Speedlite 133D for auto flash metering.

 

This EF is in Excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. There is slight brassing at one top corner of the pentaprism and the corners of the top plate. The camera is a bit on the heavy side, very sturdy and solid in one’s hands.

I am selling the cameras and photo equipment I have collected over the past fifty years. They have not been film tested but appear to function correctly (film winds on, shutter fires, f/stops change, focus works). Shutter speeds sound approximately correct to my ear but speeds have not been electronically tested. I have disclosed any problems that I am aware of and have tried to act like a fussy sharp-eyed buyer in evaluating the cameras and lenses. The items have been stored in an air-conditioned non-smoking home. Remember that many of these items are classics, over forty years old, and inevitably will show some wear and signs of age.
