Photograph Notes: The railway station at East Linton closed many years ago (probably in the 1960s). It was fully operational in 1956, as the British Transport Commission's "Official Handbook of Stations", published that year, listed the following categories of "station accommodation" as being provided at East Linton: Goods Traffic Passenger, Parcels and Miscellaneous Traffic Furniture Vans, Carriages, Motor Cars, Portable Engines, and Machines, on Wheels. Live Stock Horse Boxes and Prize Cattle Vans Carriages and Motor Cars by Passenger or Parcels Train. How times have changes - and not for the better!
