Antique Coral Beaded glass decanter.

Austria, circa 1890.

This is a PRETTY and VERY UNUSUAL glass decanter ( carafe ).

A very unusual glass decoration technique named “ Coralene “ or “ Coral beaded “.

A nice design or decoration painted onto the glass with “ syrupy “enamel paint.

Then a huge quantity of tiny glass balls, were applied to this surface, re-heated, so these tiny glass balls are melted into the glass surface.

So the result looked a little bit like the rough surface of the coral.

The gold gilding highlights decoration, gives more elegance and luxury to the piece.

Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work.
