Iron Lobi, representing a snake.
This serpentiform lobi fetish named thil is positioned vertically in the ground of domestic altars located outside: the serpent is considered an intermediary and messenger between Earth and Heaven. Symbolically it embodies the power of lightning and lightning. Most Lobi clans have snakes as totems: the viper and especially the royal pythons and those called “Sebha” which can reach 7.5 m long.
These serpentine irons can be worn as leggings when people are traveling: they are supposed to protect against attacks, and of course against viper bites.
Large in size and with three heads, this snake could be used to protect an altar.
Old and common piece, sold with the base visible in the photos, from which it can be removed.
