Rare pair of antique specimen marble console tables - featuring a variety of inset marbles and onyx to all sides within a tooled hardwood frame - each leg a reverse obelisk terminating on a ball foot, all four sides of the legs finished (important if set against a mirrored wall) - scroll details to the apron on three sides - black lacquer tops with a satin finish - United Kingdom - circa 1840.
Excellent antique condition - stress cracks in a few of the marble tiles - minor loss to the hardwood frame - scuffs and scratches to the black lacquer tops - signs of age and use.
