A Set of Three Irish Provincial Sterling Silver Teaspoons

by John Nicholson of Cork, c.1790

In good condition with light wear consistent with age. There are no significant dents or scratches and no splits.

Dating from the final quarter of the 18th century, these Celtic Point spoon are decorated with bright-cut engraving and each has an interesting armorial to the cartouche, featuring a hand protruding from a castle holding a dagger.

Hallmarked to the reverse with the makers mark, the distinctive IN in script, and STERLING. These marks have become slightly rubbed over their over two hundred year history but are still readable

They are approx 13.5cm long and weigh a combined 39.6g

Really lovely collectable set
