NICE 1800s HENSHALL TYPE CORKSCREW WITH BRUSH. This interesting style of corkscrew was invented by the Reverend Henshall in 1795. It features a button at the top of the worm which helps to break the cork loose from the bottle for easier removal. The bottle brush is in very good condition, the screw tip has not been re-sharpened, and there is wood chip damage at one end of the handle. It looks like there also should be a hanger ring on the top of the handle, but if so, it's missing. This is from a gentleman's collection in Edinburgh Scotland. It is 5.5" overall with a 2.5" worm and the handle is a little over 4.25" including the brush. If you have any questions or would like to see additional photos, please let me know.
