This is a stately, beautifully formed, antique storage jar by BB Craig that comes with its original, undamaged lid. It has a well-balanced, symmetrical body, applied lug handles, a smoothly rounded, flared collar and the lid has a nice, pulled diamond finial, a shape distinctive to Craig’s work. This outstanding storage jar was made in Catawba county, North Carolina. It stands 10-inches height with a 7.5-inches diameter body that tapers to a 5-inch diameter base. The gorgeous glaze is a shiny alkaline brown with nice drip effects. This wonderful piece is in near-perfect, unused condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. It would be a great addition to a collection or a shiny, stunning standalone piece that would highlight any room. It weighs 4 lbs. 10 oz.
