Hi all and welcome to my listing for a new safety loom for a Sinclair C5. The safety part refers to the relay and diode which only powers on the C5 when the battery is connected the right way, protecting the C5s delicate electronics which would otherwise be burnt out.

Fitting
  1. Unscrew the switch bracket on the left side of the C5.
  2. Remove the purple and black wires from the back of the switch
  3. Refit purple and black wires to the lower switch in the new switch bracket. Middle and left connector (matching the switch already connected)
  4. Remove the boot from your C5 - one clip each side.
  5. Remove the control box lid by unscrewing the screws. Note the locations where these are fitted. Not all holes are used.
  6. Undo the brown positive cable using a 7mm deep socket or a spanner. Save the lock washer and nut.
  7. Undo the brown thin positive cable connected to X5.
  8. Undo the blue negative cable using an 8mm deep docket or a spanner. Save the lock washer and nut.
  9. Cut the cable ties holding the wires to the chassis.
  10. Pull the blue and brown cables into the footwell along with the body grommet. The original key block loom should now be completed removed.
  11. Clear up any loose material from the edge of the hole in the body. 
  12. From the footwell route the new loom through the body hole. 
  13. Fit the new body grommet to the hole. Work your way around the grommet gently working it into place. Note that this can be easier with the left wheel removed.
  14. Attach the red positive cable to Post 2 using 7mm deep socket or a spanner.  Use the lock washer and nut. Ensure this connection is tight and wires are not rubbing.
  15. Attach the black negative cable to Post 1 using 8mm deep socket or a spanner.  Use the lock washer and nut. Ensure this connection is tight  and wires are not rubbing  .
  16. Attach the red thin positive to X5. 
  17. Secure the wiring to the chassis using cable ties.
  18. Fit the new double switch bracket with the new screws provided. Do not overtighten.
  19. Refit the boot - one clip each side, align the tab of the clip with the groove in the body shell.
Price based on a total 3D printing time of 6 hours with additional 2 hours labour for wiring.
