A collection of two [x2] rip-roaring naval adventure books for boys, about midshipmen ('middies'/'middy'), smugglers and coastguards, in decorative cloth, early 20th century.

[2] 'The merry middies of the 'Enchantress' and other stories of the coastguard & smuggler...' (London): R. A. Everett & Co., n.d. [1902, as cited by Copac]. Frontispiece and 3 monotone plates. 391, [1, catalogue] pp. Turquoise decorated cloth.

Very Good to Good condition. Light rubbing to bindings. Enchantress - Very minor cock to spine. A couple of minor abrasions to head of spine, and minor marking to rear board. Light age-toning and spotting to endpapers, frontispiece and t/p. Some age-toning to leaves thereon. Lost Middy - Light marking to rear cover. Spine a smidgen dulled. Some foxing to endpapers. Prize label (Carnforth Congregational Sunday School) pasted down on fly leaf. Some minor handling marks and spotting to t/p, and a few scattered spots / blemishes elsewhere. Leaves a trifle age-toned. Plates quite bright. Please ask if you require a more detailed condition report, or view gallery images closely.
