Here is a very colorful glazed ceramic collector's plate, a souvenir of Oklahoma state.  On a glossy white background rimmed in metallic platinum is a full color rendition of Chief Running Water in full headdress depicted in profile.  Surrounding the chief are 15 different colorful nature & life symbols.  In red letters "Oklahoma" is curved at the bottom.

Condition is very good, no chips, cracks, crazing, or wear to silver rim. There are only a few short scratches and a suff.  None of the design is disturbed.  It a very pretty work of art.

It measures 8 1/2" in diameter with 1" high sides.  It weighs 13 ounces.

The backstamp printed in blue reads "Warning, for decorative purpose only, not to be used for serving foods, Made in Japan".  There's also a shop sticker label that reads "Sky Chefs".

Sky Chefs of Oklahoma CIty operated food concessions at the airport terminal and provided in-flight food service for the airlines. The company also maintained a gift shop from which this collectible surely came.

It is said Chief Running Water was the original model for the US "Indian Head" nickel.  He was the son of Sitting Bull.

Thanks for looking.
