This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for ONE GS Gondola as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 40000 number series. These cars were built in 1908-09, at 36ft long, with a 50 ton rating.  Decals and details included are for the middle life of these cars, from 1926 to 1945.

The mid-era modifications to this 36ft gondola include the addition of a 10in wooden side extensions, while keeping the extended dump levers and "stemwinder" brake staff to the KC brake arrangement from the as-built specifications.

Included for EACH car:

(1) 3D printed resin one-piece carbody with KC brakes built in (Solid Grabs)
(2) Styrene coupler pocket covers
(4) Tichy Double Stirrup Steps (#3045)
(1) Tichy vertical brake wheel and phosphor bronze staff (#3003)
(4) 2-56 black oxide screws for coupler and truck attachment
(1) Custom decal sheet for the Mid-Era (1926-1945) with two sub eras of round heralds, and two-out-of-32 possible easy-to-decal numbers
(1) Lead metal bar for ballast weight
(1) Instruction Sheet

The kit does not include paint, trucks, wheels, or couplers.  The coupler pockets are sized for Kadee whisker couplers, and most manufacturers of HO scale archbar or Andrews style trucks will work.

As stated before, this listing is for ONE (1) of these kits.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!  I will combine shipping, just use the "Request Invoice" button when checking out!

I started this project as a way to build a fleet of D&RGW gondolas that are not commonly available, and along the way I've had enough interest (and spare components) to create and offer a kit in the way I like to see.  The main components are 3D printed on a Form 2 3D printer, and I've tried to balance the strength of the resin and the amount of durable detail for the cars.  As time allows for revisions, other versions will be made available.  Please no custom work requests at this time.
