The Works of Algernon Charles Swinburne: Poems. [David McKay, 1918]. Swinburne [1837-1909] was an English poet, playwright, novelist, and critic. See his Wikipedia entry for more about his life and career. This large collection of 661 pages contains most of his poetic work. This copy has a previous owner's name on the flyleaf, as well as a small label from the place where it was sold at one point, the Studio Book Shop which operated in Birmingham, Alabama, from 1920 into the 1950's. Some titles are underlined on the first page of the contents, as shown in the photo. Another page of the contents has three titles underlined. Otherwise, there are no other markings, no tears and the binding is tight.
