Rigk Sauer, managing director of RISA Musical Instruments GmbH, set aside ten euros for every “Palau” ukulele sold. The money will be used to support a disaster prevention project run by our alliance organization action medeor in the Philippines.
Save lives with disaster preparedness
Disaster preparedness prevents suffering before it happens. With the money donated by RISA Musical Instruments GmbH, a rescue team in the Philippines will be trained and equipped with two lifeboats and other equipment for sea rescue. A center was also set up from which rescue operations are coordinated. And a group of lifeguards were trained in first aid and learned, among other things, how to resuscitate people.
In 2013, Typhoon Haiyan left devastating consequences in the Philippines; thousands of people died. With projects for Disaster preparedness prepare Aid organizations prepare people for possible further emergency situations and strengthen their ability to help themselves in the event of a disaster.
“We decided a few years ago that as a company we would no longer send Christmas presents to our customers and instead donate to people in need,” says Rigk Sauer about his company’s commitment.
Thank you for this great commitment!
"A small musical instrument like the ukulele can achieve great things! This shows the commitment of RISA Musical Instruments GmbH. We are very happy about this at Aktion Deutschland Hilft. Likewise the decision to think about people in need instead of gifts at Christmas. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your valuable cooperation and commitment!"
