This is an antique Japanese Taisho Era (c. 1920)  Imari ceramic dish. It is utilizing  a transfer print technology that came to Japan in the late 1800's.  The design is of tea house over a bridge with a Haiku (Japanese poem)which talks about the scenery.  It has a  nice scalloped rim.   

This dish measures 6 1/4" across by 1 1/4" high (15.5 x 3 cm) and it remains in very good condition. An excellent  dish for serving a variety of appetizers.  It is truly a work of stand alone art.
