Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on fables and folklore by Samuel Adams Drake!


A great find from a local New England estate!  


This scarce antique volume is over 123 years old!


Ex-library.


This antique illustrated volume is in great condition overall!  Binding shows some wear, including the remnants of a library catalogue sticker pasted to the spine, and a library sticker pasted to the front board.  The front and rear boards also show some rubbing and soiling, as well as some general wear around the extremities including light bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some light soiling and spotting to the page edges, including the gilt top edge.  Otherwise this is a tight, well-preserved antique volume!


Internally, this volume is in great shape as well.  Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding.  This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers, the title page and copyright page.  Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.


The text block of this volume is exceptionally clean and perfectly readable throughout.  Pages show light toning typical of age, as well as the odd spot of light soiling or foxing, and the occasional creased corner, but are otherwise very clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.  


Illustrated with a frontispiece and vignettes at the top of each chapter.
