A great find from a local New England estate!
This scarce antique volume is over 136 years old!
Ex-library.
In nice condition overall! Original publisher cloth binding shows some wear including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and fraying to the spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges. Binding is slightly cocked. Nicely preserved overall for being almost 140 years old!
Internally this volume is in good shape overall with both boards attached to the binding and all page groupings secure. The binding is a bit loose, but again, everything remains secure. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the tile page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.
The text block of this volume is generally clean throughout. Although there is some typical age-related toning to the pages, a tear on page 29, some light soiling and foxing scattered throughout, some corner creasing, and some light staining visible in the margins on some pages, this volume is otherwise clean and remains perfectly readable throughout!
