Poinciana
(Delonix regia)
Commonly known as the Ponciana Tree, Flame of the Forest is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae.
It is spectacular tree, native to Madagascar. Grows to around 4 - 5 metres tall.
The nectar produced by the flowers attracts honey eaters and native bees.
A beautiful flowering ornamental and feature shade tree. Often seen planted next to Queenslander style homes alongside Jacaranda & Mango trees.

Flowers
Bright red flowers being seen from April to October, followed by large, bean shaped brown seed pods from December to March.
Other uses
An excellent bird attracting, screening plant, with showy flowers.
What will I receive?
You will receive 5 fresh seeds.
Seed is generally sown to the depth of the seed in well drained sterilised medium and kept moist, but not wet.
Keep protected from excessive temperatures and inclement weather.
Native seeds often respond well to smoke treatment, which also acts as a natural
fungicide.
