Here we have a very rare map of the Mariana Islands for World War 2.  This is a see-through map possibly used in submarines.  I'm not a map expert, but this appears to be a map that is used on a lighted flat surface in a dark room (e.g. submarine or naval vessel).  The first image is held up to a light so you can see all the details.  Locations on the map include Pajoros island, Asuncion Island, Agrigan Island, Pagan Island, and a bunch of other islands all the way to Guam.  The direction arrows and presumed travel path ends in Guam.  There are also "supply" points notated.

The Mariana Islands was the launching pad for direct strikes against Japan.  Most notably, the Mariana Islands were used to land and launch B-29 Bombers for bombing runs in Japan.  There's tremendous history in this map, the Pacific, and especially the Mariana Islands.

Highly unusual and super cool!  I've never seen a map like this before and will probably never see another again.

Great addition to your map or WWII collection!  I'm happy to send more pics or answer any questions - just ask.
