The administrative separation of Burma from India occurred in 1937, this is the first publication since the separation. The preface states, " In view of the creation of the Burma Office, the title of this publication has been altered to, " The India Office and Burma Office List.", corrected up to the 1st of January 1938. There is the possibility that this edition included a map of India as well as a map of Burma but only the map of Burma is present.
