An original caricature etching by George Cruikshank (1792-1878) after

Titled 'Indigestion' it depicts a man sitting in a chair looking very pained.  He holds his hand to his chest (clearly a case of acid reflux!), and is surrounded by little figures, many offering the rich foods that are the likely cause of his malady.  There is a bottle labelled 'Black Draught' on the mantlepiece and discarded dinner tickets on the floor near his feet.

Published by Thomas McLean 26 Haymarket, August 1835.
