EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE & IMPRESSIVE KOSTA BODA ART GLASS VASE
This incredibly large and impressive hand blown art glass vase is beautifully coloured with random mottles of opaque grey creating a rock-like surface to the lower portion of the stylishly tapered, tall slender form. An organically shaped clear glass lozenge featuring a frosted fossilised shell motif adorns the front face of the vessel adding a refined focal point to the imposing form.
The neutral grey surface treatment was created by applying frits of glass to the original gather which was then blown into shape forcing the frits of colour to create a unique veined surface which perfectly follows the sleek contours of the form and adds an appealing textural element to the design.
This impressive piece stands proudly atop a wide and stable clear glass foot which balances the form and visually connects with the clear glass top rim to create a harmoniously unified design.
The earthy inspired neutral tones ensure this beautifully designed and masterfully hand crafted example would make a wonderfully artistic feature in any well designed home.
SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 460mms or 18" tall and measures 130mms in width. The sheer size alone is testament to the skills of the master Kosta Boda glass blowers.
WEIGHT: This substantial piece weighs 2.940 kgs unpackaged.
CONDITION: This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This vase appears to have been stored away in its original Kosta Boda box having never been used let alone placed upon display. Minor scuffs to the original box from storage mentioned for complete accuracy. The vase itself is in as new condition and cannot be faulted.
MARKS: This stunning example is beautifully signed with an engraved mark to the base "Kosta Boda K Engman 40014" and also retains its original Kosta Boda label.
