This charming satsuma vase has three fish and signature on the bottom in red. There is a removable cork near the bottom.

When I did my research using the steps described below, I didn’t find any other vases like this. It’s always exciting to learn that there’s not another one like this out there. But it also makes it harder to price sometimes. In this case, though, I trust the Auction House who deals only with Asian Antiques (and some vintage). They estimated the value at $600. I paid a lot for this one and wiIl be pricing it at $600.

Age: unknown, guessing late 1900s
Origin: Japan
Estimated value by auction house: $600
Height: 8.25 inches
Width: 4 inches
Depth: 4 inches
Condition: excellent.

My guarantee is that I will be honest about my items, and share what I know about them with you. Also, I will be fair with my pricing based on research, and I will also share this with you.

There are three steps involved in my research for pricing, and you can do this too.

1. Use an app called Google Lens to take a photo of any item. It will bring up similar items and how much they sell/sold for. This is also helpful in figuring out what to call or how to describe the item.

2. Do a Google search for the name of the item.

3. Do a search for the item by name on Chairish and another similar site.

Since I am being fair with my pricing, I want you to know how to do this. It will only help me by validating my pricing choices, and hopefully it will help you to recognize items that are overpriced.

Feel free to ask me any questions or to make an offer.

I have many more items to post, so please check back sometime.

Thank you!
