Bringing Home the Christmas Tree
The Rorstrand Christmas plate for 1968, first issue in the popular Rorstrand “square” Christmas series that ran from 1968 through 1999. It features a man walking beside a horse pulling a sled with a huge Christmas tree. The Christmas Star shines brightly in the night sky.
The design for this plate is by Gunnar Nylund, former Rorstrand chief designer and a collectable artist in his own right. Signed G.N. for Gunnar Nylund. Approximately 7.5 inches across (8.25 inches on the diagonal). Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the stylized “R” and three crown trademark for Rorstrand.
