System Design and Layout Suggestions

Space-It Dripline is available in several spacings to fit a variety of pot sizes and layouts. There are also many connection options you can use to create your system. Drip lines run off a zone header row or sub-main line such as PE tubing or PVC pipe, then are stretched across the top of the pots and secured to an end frame. The header row and end frame are generally positioned at the same height as the pots to prevent line being pinched or kinked by the edge of the pots.

First, determine how many pots can be watered in a zone. Use the Zone Flow Chart to determine how much water is needed to operate one zone of pots. Next, you will determine how long your row or run will be. Netafim recommends a maximum of 100' rows. This reduces expansion contraction issues as well as operational issues. Lastly, you can then determine the other system components such as valves, filters, pressure regulators and water meters. See the manufacturer's brochure (linked above) for suggestions.
