A unique piece of British heritage that should be of interest to anyone keen on 1930s European History, the Second World War, or indeed the history of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

Neville Chamberlain was perceived as a hero by many on his return from Germany, following the signing of the Munich Agreement, on the 30th September 1938.

There was an outpouring of relief across Britain that manifested itself in many forms, one of which was Neville Chamberlain Beds being donated to local hospitals by philanthropists.

For example, immediately upon news of Chamberlain signing the Agreement Sir Francis Joseph telegraphed the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary to commit £1,000 to providing a Neville Chamberlain Bed to the hospital.

The attached news article is a report from the 9th of January, 1939 about the dedication of the Neville Chamberlain bed.

The heavy copper plaque is well worn with age but beautiful, and is 12" x 6" in dimension. No original screws unfortunately.

Perfect for a collector of WW2 or Modern British History memorabilia as it is a complete one off.
