Description: From a French edition of the travels of James Cook. Norton Sound.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Robert Benard' after 'John Webber'. Robert Benard (active ca. 1734-1751) worked mainly as a engraver of book illustrations. He was very active for the Encyclopedie. John Webber (1751 - 1793) was an English artist who accompanied Captain Cook on his third Pacific expedition. He is best known for his images of Australasia, Hawaii and Alaska.

Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Habitans et habitations de l'entree de Norton.' - Local people and their houses near Norton sound in Alaska.

Condition: Fair, given age. Small to no margins, with folds as published. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
